Well, I promised I would kick off my big one year blog anniversary giveaway today, March 11th. It's hard to believe I have been blogging for an entire year. I have learned so much and made so many wonderful friends and I just am so humbled that so many of you care so much...you check in when I haven't posted, you pray for me and my family, you encourage me when I am down and you are always willing to help...Simply said, you guys are just the BEST and I appreciate that you all take the time to read what I have to say.
When I started blogging I didnt tell any of my friends or family (except the hubs, but he struggles with email and trying to explain a blog to him was interesting to say the least...but he's always been my biggest fan and told me just to go for it...we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary just the other day and I am blessed to be married to a man who is not only my lover and companion, but my very best friend and confidant)...Ok, ok, I will stop making you all jealous (haha) cuz man, he is a keeper for sure.
I did have one friend who found my blog and she pops in now and again (Hi Heidi) , but basically I started blogging to see if I had any real talent and to see if anyone would want to read what I had to share and I needed unbiased opinions and since none of you all knew me, you provided me the information I needed....To my utter amazement in just one year I have 298 followers and I am humbled and amazed at your interest in me and my little prim corner of life. I treasure the comments some of made about my rug hooking tutorials and all the encouragement to write a book....I am actually thinking about working on it in my spare time.
Oh gosh I could go on and on about how you all have helped me reconnect to a world in which I no longer felt I had a place. Having been ill and alone so long, you all have given me the confidence to pursue some long time dreams and I want to thank you by doing a great giveaway. I want to make it really easy too. Each remaining Monday in March I will add another giveaway prize and will even be sneaking some smaller prizes in over the next several weeks and will be drawing winners on March 31st. I will end up with probably 5-10 winners depending on how many extra prizes I get finished. Some of them will stay a secret too.
Well lets get down to business...the first weeks offering is a great rug hooking/quilting book by Polly Minnick and Laurie Simpson...
This book is filled with coordinating patterns for matching quilts and hooked rugs along with step by step instructions.
The rules are really simple..Each day I list a prize, you can enter by commenting on that days post ONLY . I will be adding new prizes at least, every Monday (with those little suprises scattered in too, so check back often) from now till the end of March. You will need to leave your name and the name of your blog if you have one or your email so I know how to get in touch with you if you win...All the winners will be announced on March 31st !!! You do need to be a follower (and of course I love you new followers too). If you want to post it on your sidebar or facebook or twitter or write a post about it, let me know in the ONE COMMENT you leave for each prize and I will give you an extra entry for each place you post. The giveaway is open to all US entries (sorry, but I just dont have the extra money to ship internationally).
Just to tease you a little there will be some wool given away, maybe a rug hooking kit, perhaps some stacking boxes, maybe some candles...I promise it will be stuff you all will like.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this blog the bright spot of my year. I hope to expand and do more now that things are settling down around here (yeah right)
OK...I gotta go, its late and I am actually sleepy enough to maybe sleep so.....Thank you again for being such wonderful friends.
Grace to you,
Margie

Hello? Hello??? Remember me??? Awww...my dear, sweet, Margie - so very sorry to have been so long gone. I just did some catching-up here, and don't even know where to begin....left off at the hives (and having shared similar experiences, know your pain - but Axe - really??? Oh my heck!) So sorry to hear of your FIL and will add him, your MIL and the rest of your family on my prayer list....as well as your son. Wow - how scary that must be. I'm a "helicopter" mom myself and worry when my son is just gone for a weekend. I truly can't imagine the anxiety that must wreak. On to brighter things - congratulations to your and your wonderful hubby on 25 years.....Hope you celebrated in style - and made more magical memories. And congratulations on your one year blogiversary.....Mine was the very end of February I think - but, I'm so far behind, I don't even know that for sure. I just can't get the hang of this "balance" thing. My son is still recovering from his second surgery which was also unsuccessful - another appt today and yet another on Wednesday for a second "second" opinion....Add to it that my mother has been hospitalized twice in three weeks and is now in a nursing home (and, no, it was not fun bouncing today b/w the university, her appts, and my son's.....)....Argh sorry for the rambling mess. Anywho - congratulations....and looks like it's going to be a wonderful round of giveaway madness. Please sit me out....I've not been a very good blogger buddy and feel horribly about that. (And I think I might actually have that book somewhere??? Wow...that's really bad not to know for sure....Now I'm scared of myself...) I will, though, post on my sidebar.....Take good care - and hope your heart forgives me. Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteWhy would you ever think no one would want to read what you write? We all do! Congrats on the first of many years of blogging.

Happpy anniversary, Margie, to you and Hubs. You have hit the silver milestone! Sure, I would like to win a "Prize". That book cover is so enticing; could get my juices bubbling all over again for the wool pile is growing beyond reason! Gardening season will put that in halt/neutral for awhile; Hmm? Well, gotta go do some rat, er moth killing. Bye bye.
ReplyDeleteOh, btw, gotcha lined up with my favorite blogs hanging over here in my sidebar. Several readers of mine will delight meeting you with your beautiful 'wooly' creations. Have no fear, just trust, Maggie, and all will work out for the highest good. Remember, there are NO accidents.

Congratulations Margie on your one year!! That's awesome! I know that it took me awhile to get into blogging, I was scared as to what people thought as well. I just only started a few months ago, and can't believe the friends and comments that I have received, it's wonderful! I do this for myself, as no one that I know really knows that I do this. The support out there is amazing and it's gotten me back into creating again, something I stopped a long time ago, and now that my children are getting more self sufficient, I've been able to do more and do more creating with them - it's all good and getting better :)
ReplyDeleteps. I would love to be entered into this giveaway, something I've always wanted to try!
